Another huge month of successfully delivering your goods, and the story of a saved delivery!
We’ve been looking over the numbers again this month, and October was another strong one. Chadkirk Transport completed 808 deliveries, up from 477 in October last year, which is a 69.39% increase! The steady growth reflects the extra vehicles we’ve brought into the fleet and the new customers we’ve welcomed on board.
But the number itself only tells part of the story. That’s 808 times our customers trusted us to get something important from A to B and make sure it arrived when it should. Every load matters to us because for the people waiting on the other end, it always does.
Our goal has always been to set a new standard for reliability, where partnership and care matter more than just completing another job. October was another reminder of why that approach works.
On another quick note: Our 26t Moffett will be arriving soon, along with a brand new 40ft trailer with a cantilever tail-lift. Further expanding our handling and lifting capabilities for those tricky loads!

“The forklift is all booked at the other end…”
It started like any other job. A HIAB was booked, everything lined up, and the team ready to go. But when we arrived to collect the load, something didn’t look right. Once it was on the back of the truck, the total height would’ve been too much for onward travel. The initial measurements given were off, and there was no safe way to move it that day.
At short notice, the call was made to stand the job down. The only real option with such an urgent delivery was to return the next morning with a step frame trailer, as finding a low-trailered HIAB in that timeframe proved tricky. A forklift hadn’t been an option originally (which is why the HIAB was booked in the first place), but our customer asked, and pleaded a little, with the delivery point to see if they could help by using theirs instead. Eventually, they agreed, and that adjustment kept things moving for the next day.
The next morning, the goods were loaded, strapped, and sent on their way. Everything was back on track… until it wasn’t. Somewhere along the way, wires got crossed about the forklift. When the truck arrived, it turned out no one on site at the time would accept responsibility for offloading.
It’s 4:30pm. On a Friday. The job still needs a HIAB.
Our customer on site rang their office and told them the load was coming back.
Back in the Chadkirk Transport office, the team jumped into action. Phones ringing, favours called in, a few long shots made, and within just 30 minutes a HIAB rolled into site! The goods were offloaded safely, the customer was absolutely chuffed, and the job was complete.
The perfect plan isn’t always possible in logistics, especially when you’re working across different departments and organisations. Details get lost, human mistakes happen, and sometimes things go sideways. What matters is how quickly you react, find a fix, and keep things moving. That’s what reliability really looks like.
Driver of the Month…
We’d like to continue by celebrating our Driver of the Month for October, the outstanding Nathan Jevons! Nathan will be receiving a £100 Amazon gift card, a well-earned boost in the run-up to Christmas.
Nathan joined us around five months ago after feeling a bit disenchanted in his previous driving role, where he’d dedicated over five years. Since joining Chadkirk Transport, he’s gone from strength to strength, recently gaining his truck-mounted forklift licence and now claiming his first Driver of the Month award!
The fit between Nathan and the team has been brilliant from day one. He’s even said it’s the best job he’s had (let’s hope that’s not just the honeymoon phase). All jokes aside, it’s a great reflection of what we believe at Chadkirk: if you look after your people, they’ll look after your customers. And that’s something we want every customer to feel first-hand from all of our wonderful drivers.

Did you know?
Chadkirk Transport is an ADR-certified operator, approved to handle 7 of the 9 classes of ADR goods (excluding explosives and radioactive materials). Our drivers are fully ADR qualified, and our vehicles meet all the requirements for transporting hazardous goods safely and compliantly.
If you ever have a load that involves ADR materials, or just a question about how the regulations work, give us a call. It can be a bit daunting if you’ve not dealt with ADR before, but we’re always happy to help make the process simple and stress-free.
The Christmas run-up is in full swing, and we know how busy it gets. Our team is working hard to keep up with demand and make things as easy as possible for you. Let us help take some of the stress out of the season.
